Tips for travelling around Brisbane
Getting around Brisbane is done mostly by way of bus, train or ferry, or a combination of the three. Once you know the location of your accommodation and your destination, you can find out about journeying in the greater Brisbane/Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast region by planning your trip with the Translink journey planner. Visit http://www.translink.com.au/
1. go Card

The go Card will be the most cost effective ticket system for travellers in Brisbane. A go card can be purchased from most newsagencies and is a touch on/touch off system on board any of the 3 types of public transport in Brisbane, cityCat, bus and train. In general one can expect to save 30% by using a go card than buying individual tickets.
Visit the Translink website for more information at http://www.translink.com.au/go.php
2. Airtrain

The Airtrain operates from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm from the Airport to Brisbane Central and from 5:20 am to 7:20 pm from Brisbane Central to the Airport. Tickets are $14.50 one way and a further 10% discount is available if ordered online.

All delegates arriving on the morning of 28 November will be picked up from the airport by transport officer/personnel. Please understand that on the day all officers/personnel will be busy and occupied so your patience is appreciated.
Departure
All who are leaving on 1 December following the end of AMYC will have transport to the airport confirmed prior.
Anyone who wishes or planned to stay further in Brisbane will have their transportation to airport confirmed following the end of AMYC.
An important update:
If you are planning to go back home on 1 December (the last day of AMYC 2010) and have not booked your flights yet, please book your departure time after 5 pm, as the airport is quite a distance away from the camp site.
