There's now only ONE week until AMYC and I hope you're all excited! We at the EMP church have been working busily away so that we can all have a meaningful and enjoyable time together :)

Please be reminded that on Sunday 28 November, we will all be attending the Annual Conference Thanksgiving Service and Closing Ceremony starting at 10:00 am at the EMP church. If you are from interstate, transport officers will have already gotten in touch with you to help you get to the EMP church on time. If you have not yet provided your flight arrangements (and accommodation details if you are staying before/after AMYC) please do so ASAP!

On arrival at church you will be required to head around to the back to drop off your luggage. After the Service lunch will be provided at church, and at the same time all AMYC attendees will be on a rotation to retrieve their luggage and officially register (listen carefully on the day!). After this we will be boarding coaches to head off to the camp site. Unless you have made arrangements with us regarding driving, you will be required to travel by coach.

Please remember to bring:

• A Bible and a pen for writing
• A pillow, sheets and light blanket for sleeping
• Towel and toiletries
• Enough clothes to wear (and it will be hot)
  
• Suitable shoes for running around!
• A torch for night time
• A small amount of spending money

In sunny QLD, it's also very important to remember your:

• Insect repellent (non-aerosol)
• Sunscreen
• Hat

AND also, as per the camp site's request, please do NOT BRING any of the following:

• Aerosols - any spray deodorant or insect repellent. This is because it can set off the smoke alarms (it must have happened many times)!
• Hairdryers - there is limited power supply so if everyone tries to use them we may shut down the camp site. It would be pretty bad if that happened.

For those getting picked up after AMYC is over, we will be arriving back at EMP church at approximately 5:00 pm on Wednesday 1 December. For those of you who have flights to catch, don't worry - your transport is being arranged.

On Saturday 4 December, for those still in Brisbane we will be having a combined Youth gathering at 7:00 pm at the EMP church (and of course, there is church on Sunday at 9:00 am). We hope that as many of you can come as possible (give us a buzz if you need transport help)!

And finally, if you have not yet paid your registration fees, please do so immediately (or inform someone if you are having troubles).

AMYC 2010 is not far off now, and there will be about 150 people on-site!

If you haven't sent in your flight details (coming from outside Brisbane) or paid your registration fee, please do so straight away! Also, please check and let us know if your flight times have changed at all, as airlines often amend times slightly when closer to the date.

Hi everyone!

We currently have just over 100 registrations! Our registration and transport officers will be getting in contact with you to confirm your details, payment and transport arrangements. If you had not booked flights at the time of registration but have done so now, please pass the information on to our transportation officers (details on "Contacts" page). Please double-check the information on the "Transport" page to make sure you have everything covered!

An important update:

If you are planning to go back home on 1 December (the last day of AMYC 2010) and have not booked your flights yet, please book your departure time after 5 pm, as the airport is quite a distance away from the camp site.

Praise God for a successful fundraising concert hosted by the combined youth of the Eight Mile Plains Church! This, together with the generous support received from our other fundraising events over the year, has enabled us to reach our large fundraising target for AMYC 2010.

 

Please get your registrations in soon - early bird is closing in just under 2 weeks' time! Both the early bird AND regular prices are significantly subsidised from the actual cost of your attendance, but wouldn't you rather personally save another $20? ;)
